Is Work From Home Culture Adoptable During Lockdown?

A pandemic situation that we have been witnessing for the last 2 months is the Coronavirus. The spread of this virus is deadly and has impacted more than 200 countries. As there’s no vaccine and medicine to treat it, the only option that every country’s government is implementing is “lockdown”. This means every industry, shop, mall, parks, offices, educational institute, religious place, business, and many more will be shutdown.

Different Industries Are already in progress

During such a pandemic situation, work from home is a viable option for many businesses, e-commerce sector, and the IT industry. With this work from home culture, at least some employees can be relaxed. If we’ll look at the data then we will find that half of the BPO sector has moved to the remote working to keep their services functional and uninterrupted during the lockdown. Industries like IT, BPO, consultation, and many other companies are likely to move to work from home for every employee because of the current situation. Through manufacturing industries cannot implement remote work completely, they have approached a few segments such as design to work from home.

A few days ago, WFH was rarely seen in some special cases. But today, work from home has become a need for many industries. With the help of teleconferencing and technology, businesses are connected with the remote teams and the customers. Telecommunication has made this culture possible for everyone. The ability to communicate on con-calls, video calls, emails, and text has developed an available expectation in various industries.

How effective it is?

Many times, it is seen that experts say that there will be less productivity of work from home in comparison with full-time works. But, during this pandemic situation, there’s no other option left. If the companies want to keep their business running then they need to implement this.

• Other important reasons why companies should take it seriously because there will be cost savings and convenience. For this, the work from home culture needs to be implemented correctly in the right path. When comes to cost-saving, the companies can save a lot in transportation, canteen, office essentials, and electricity.
• This culture of work from home also encourages women to join the team without any hassle of everyday commute and their house-hold chores.
• What about the environmental impacts? There are fewer vehicles on the road which is giving you a perfect fresh environment to live.

As work from home has not evolved much in the country, we can still see work from home scenes in most of the companies working greatly. Saying wouldn’t be wrong that the corona is like a war situation that has affected globally the people, finance, and economy. There can be some cons of this WFH like distractions and all. But, this is the least that every employee and company can do as per their resilience and capabilities for delivering value while working from home and staying safe.
